Mounting

Tutorial on how to mount disc images to virtual drives in DAEMON Tools Pro. Screencast contains several ways of mounting image files (iso, mdx, mdf, mds, etc.)

By default you can mount images by opening image files from Windows (by double-click) after DAEMON Tools Pro is installed.

Click 'DVD/CD-ROM Devices' to open devices panel.

Drag disc image to virtual device icon.

PC will handle (open) disc image the same way as a real disc.

Here are several methods of mounting image file to a virtual CD/DVD-drive:

Mounting from DAEMON Tools Pro main window

  • Select a virtual drive (click drive icon), open 'Actions' menu and select 'Mount' menu command.
  • Select a virtual drive and press Ctrl+M on your keyboard.
  • Select a virtual drive in the Virtual Devices panel and click button on Main Toolbar.
  • Right click on a virtual drive icon and select 'Mount' command from the context menu.
  • Start dragging an image file icon on the Image Catalog panel, virtual devices would appear when dragging, drop the image to the virtual device icon.
  • Right click an image file icon in the Image Catalog panel and select 'Mount Image' command from the context menu.

Mounting from Windows Explorer

  • Open Windows Explorer and navigate to an image file to be mounted. Right click the image file icon and select 'DAEMON Tools Pro' →'Mount to' → 'Add new [DT/SCSI/IDE] virtual drive and mount' command.
  • To mount image file, double click on it in Windows Explorer if you have enabled File Associations feature for the selected file type.
  • Open Computer, right click on the virtual device icon and select 'DAEMON Tools Pro' →'Mount Image…' item in the context menu. Select the image you want to mount.

Mounting with DAEMON Tools Pro Agent

Images can be mounted via DAEMON Tools Pro Agent.

Mounting with DAEMON Tools Gadget

Also, you can mount images using DAEMON Tools Gadget if it's installed (only for Windows Vista/7).
